The 2026 Festival Verdi opens with Alzira, a rarely performed Verdi gem returning to the Teatro Regio di Parma after more than twenty years. This revival launches a new journey of rediscovery that the Festival aims to nurture in future editions.
Two great classics follow: Aida, staged in the intimate Teatro Giuseppe Verdi in Busseto, and Nabucco, back on the Teatro Regio di Parma stage. Their critical editions, edited respectively by Stefano Castelvecchi and Jonathan Cheskin, and Roger Parker, will be performed according to the scholarly publications of the University of Chicago Press and Casa Ricordi, offer authentic and deeply inspired interpretations.
Completing the lineup are the Gala Verdiano, Messa da Requiem, Ramificazioni, and Verdi Off — a celebration of Verdi’s genius not to be missed.
