2026 Opera Season – Tetro Regio di Parma

Opera Holidays in Parma: Discover the 2026 Season at Teatro Regio

In the heart of northern Italy, nestled among Renaissance palaces and world-class cuisine, Parma invites you to experience a cultural journey like no other. Celebrated as a capital of both music and gastronomy, this UNESCO Creative City is ready to enchant visitors with the 2026 Opera Season at Teatro Regio di Parma—a premier destination for opera lovers in Europe.

A Season of Passion and Artistry

From January 23 to March 28, 2026, the Teatro Regio stage will be transformed by three operatic masterpieces that span centuries of emotion and musical brilliance:

  • Orpheus and Eurydice by Gluck
  • Norma by Bellini
  • Manon Lescaut by Puccini

The season opens with Orpheus and Eurydice, presented in its rare 1762 Vienna version. Starring Carlo Vistoli, Francesca Pia Vitale, and Nadja Mchantaf, this new production is directed by acclaimed visual artist Shirin Neshat, making her debut at Teatro Regio. The orchestra is led by maestro Fabio Biondi, with performances on January 23, 25, 29, and 31.

In February, Bellini’s timeless Norma returns in a co-production with the opera houses of Modena and Piacenza. With direction by Nicola Berloffa and baton in hand Renato Palumbo, the Italian Philharmonic Orchestra brings life to this dramatic tale of love and betrayal. Soprano Vasilisa Berzhanskaya takes the title role, alongside Giuliana Gianfaldoni, Dmitry Korchak, and Carlo Lepore, on stage February 15, 17, 20, and 22.

March welcomes Manon Lescaut, a poignant opera by Puccini. This lavish production—staged in partnership with international theaters in Bari, Bucharest, Rijeka, and the Puccini Festival—features Anastasia Bartoli’s debut as Manon, joined by Luciano Ganci, Alessandro Luongo, and Andrea Concetti. Conducted by Francesco Ivan Ciampa, it runs March 20, 22, 26, and 28.

To close the season, Teatro Regio celebrates its 197th anniversary with a special concert, Regio197, on May 16, spotlighting rising stars from Parma’s own Accademia Verdiana, one of Italy’s most respected opera training programs.
